Easy Vegetable Biriyani

Easy Vegetable  Biriyani (1)

INGREDINETS:

  • Basmati rice – 2 cups
  • Onion, thinly sliced – 1 cup
  • Carrots,  peeled and cut in to small cubes – ½ cup
  • Green peas – ½ cup
  • Ghee – 2Tbsp
  • Oil – 1 Tbsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 Tbsp
  • Green chilies , slit lengthwise – 3 nos 
  • Turmeric powder – 1/8 tsp
  • Biriyani masala – 1 tsp
  • Cashew nuts – 1/4 cup
  • Raisins – 1/4 cup (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Water – 4 cups
  • Lemom Juice – 2 Tsp

METHOD::

  • Wash well and soak the rice in water for half-an-hour.
  • Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a rice cooker .
  • Now add ginger garlic paste, sliced onion and green chillies  and sauté well.
  • To this add carrots, green peas, turmeric powder, biriyani masala, socked rice, salt  and 4 cups of water, mix everything well.
  • Add lemon juice and mix well.
  • Close the cooker with its lid and cook them for 2 whistles.
  • Meanwhile heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan and fry 1/4 cup of onion and keep it aside.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in another small pan and fry cashew nuts and raisins separately till become golden color. Keep it aside.
  • After full pressure going out from the pressure cooker , open the lid and transfer the well cooked spicy rice and vegetables mix to a large shallow  bowl or plate.

  • Garnish tasty vegetable biriyani  with fried onions, cashew nuts, Raisins and serve hot with Raita,  Paneer butter masala, Cauliflower Masala or Aloo - Green peas korma or mushroom-potato curry. It goes very well with raita and chicken curry too.

Omelette

Omelete  or egg omelette, is a very popular breakfast. The egg omelette is a simple dish and it can be made easy and quick. It is really very tasty, fluffy pancake made by cooking  beaten egg in a pan. We have a lots ofrecipes using cheese, vegetables and meat are fondly eaten by many people around the world.

INGREDINETS:

  • Eggs - 2
  • Onion – 4 Tbsp , finely chopped
  • Green chilies - 2, finely chopped
  • Milk - 2 tbsps
  • Capsicum - 1 tbsps, finely minced (optional)
  • Tomato – 2Tbsp, very finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder -  a pinch
  • Garam masala powder - 1/8 tsp (optional)
  • Curry leaves  - 2 tsp , finely chopped
  • Oil/Butter /Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • METHOD:

    • Crack the eggs into a mixing bowl and beat them well for few minutes till it becomes frothy. This enables the omelet to become fluffy.

    • Now add the rest of the ingredients except the oil and whisk well. Check for the salt.
    • Mix well to incorporate all the ingredients.
    • Heat a non-stick pan and grease it with oil/butter/ghee. Allow it to heat up. Once hot, reduce flame.
    • Now pour  the egg mixture to the pan, tilt the pan to spread the egg mixture and cover and cook it for few minutes till the bottom layer has turned golden brown.

    • Carefully flip the omelet to the other side, cover and allow it to cook well for about 10-12 seconds
    • When both sides have attained golden brown color, the omelet fully cooked, slide the omelette onto a plate and serve warm with buns, bread slices or Rice.

    INGREDINRTS:

    • Potato – 1 medium sized, peeled and cubed
    • Onion,  – 1, medium, thinly sliced or chopped
    • Green Bell pepper – 1/8 , chopped
    • Ginger, chopped – 1” piece
    • Garlic, crushed – 1 no
    • Black pepper – 1/2 tsp
    • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
    • Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
    • Salt – to taste
    • Oil – 2 Tsp
    • Milk ( coconut milk or drinking milk) – 1/4 cup
    • Chopped Coriander leaves – 1 Tbsp (optional)

    METHOD:

    • Heat oil in a heavy  bottomed  pan. Add chopped ginger, crushed garlic, and sauté well.
    • Then add the onion& bell pepper and sauté for a few minute still the onion becomes soft/transparent.
    • Add the cubed potatoes,  salt,turmeric powder , black pepper powder, Garam masala  and 1cup of water , and mix well. Cover it and allow them to cook in medium flame.
    • When the potatoes fully cooked, add  coconut milk &  reduce heat; simmer and cook for 3 more minutes. If you want , you can mash the potatoes.
    • Check for salt and remove the potato-carrot  curry from fire.
    • Transfer your delicious thick potato-pepper curry to a serving bowl.
    • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
    • Serve hot with Chapatti.

    Jan Hagels

    INGREDINETS:

    • All purpose flour – 1 cup
    • Salt – a pinch
    • Butter  - 1/4 cup
    • Brown Sugar – 1/2 cup
    • Vanilla – 1/2 tsp
    • Egg – 1 no
    • Sliced Almonds – 1/4 to 1/2 cup
    • Milk – 1/2 cup

    METHOD:

    • Grease a 9.6 x 9.6 x 1.9 inches square pan and keep it aside.
    • Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
    • Stir together all purpose flour  and salt.
    • In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds.
    • Add brown sugar and vanilla and beat well until fluffy.
    • Add egg and beat well.
    • Now add flour mixture into the brown sugar mixture and mix well.
    • Add milk and mix well.
    • Pour the thick batter to the greased pan.
    • Sprinkle sliced almonds over all.
    • Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the top turns golden brown and a tooth pick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
    • Remove it from the Oven.

    • Cut into 2 inch diamond or triangle shape while warm.
    • Allow it to cool completely ( 15 minutes)
    • Remove  your delicious Jan Hagels  from pan and serve.
